In February, and June 2008 , I 've worked in Holstebro, in Denmark . In this project I ve been collaborated 3 schools.: Norrelandsskolen,Jorgens Skole, Birkelungskolen.
I went 2 times to Denmark and worked with young Dannish People who immigrated from
different Countries.Before I ve started Odin Thetret realised all the necessary meeetings with the president of the Turkish Community, Kurdish Community, directors of the schools and some teachers.
I ve explained them my project and showed my previous works which I did in different years in different cities. I explained them clearly to percept the concept and during the project, anything will be risk these youngs culture and the way of their living, and also the same for Denmark.
So than I ve started. My asistant Gul , helped me to contact directly with their common
language .
Because these youngs would be express themselves easily in their own language as Dannish.
I communicate with them in English, so I wanted them to express them selves through drawings, paintings, poets or some colums tha they have collected from the newspapers.
The first days were always went on , how to express our selves? To questionning : Who are we ? What we dream? What we are struggling for? Where the reality lay for us?
I told them to express themselves but not using pornografy , violence , supporting wars., and attacking one nations., provoking terror.These all should be out of our aim..
And I also told them , I will compile some sentences from the lyrics that they have written.
Because this should be the voice of many of them , not only one or 3 persons.
I could compile and gether them the way which represents strongly their existence in the world.
So they agreed and we ve started,.

War against war, citizen against citizen, totally forgotten, who it stood for.
Why should we kill, why should we go to war.
Is there noone who can feel the pain inside.

Where brothers and sisters, their origins came from, damn it.
Is there no one who can see, or know what is happening.
Noone that can help, just stand and look at what you are seeing

The only thing that i am looking for, is a mother who can tell me.
Tell me, why I came to the world, and who created me.
Was born on two legs, created by a mighty god, and i was the one who was given the luck.
I grew up in my own culture and community, but ended up in the same place.
A fucking life, since i was created, saw lots of people killed.
Why should we kill, why should we go to war.
Is there noone who can feel the pain inside.

During the workshop I used 3 cameras. 1st camera was staible, the 2nd was camera
focusing in different edge of the space, 3rd camera was in my hand.. and sometimes,
if they wanted to film and interview with eachother, they used the 3rd camera.
After the 4 th day , we started to on lyrics.the 6 th day we started to excercise to read the
lyric in a rap mode.
In Denmark , the musician didn't go to Denmark , I brought him all the selected sequences
of the lyric and he started to compose the lyric and merge the lyrics and the recorded
songs with his composed songs.It was a very hard time for us, we had 1,5 months before
the presentation but it was still very hard.
I prefer to show this music video in the supermarkets, big molls, some fashion shops like
Topshop... in some Banks and as well in a bank and a Library of Holstebro.
Because Holstebro is a small town and there was any proper Center for Contemporary Art.
And this was a project to realise to make these youngs visible so... Ive decided to show it
every possible places in Holstebro.
